WHO WE ARE
Central Square Theater, is a state-of-the-art theatrical arts facility where audiences find, under one roof, the distinctive repertoires of two award-winning, professional companies, The Nora Theatre Company and Underground Railway Theater as well as collaborative projects drawing on their creative synergy.
As the first permanent home for both theater companies, Central Square Theater is a vibrant hub of theatrical, educational, and social activity, where artists and audiences come together to create theater vital to the community.
Central Square Theater was recognized in The Boston Foundation as one of “the organizations that has contributed to making Greater Boston one of the most culturally rich cities in the world.”
Catherine Carr Kelly is the executive director of Central Square Theater, and along with Artistic Directors Lee Mikeska Gardner (The Nora Theatre Company) and Debra Wise (Underground Railway Theater), this dynamic triad provides bold leadership of a unique organization that benefits from shared staffing and streamlined operations and, together, produces and presents over 200 shows and events to over 28,000 (and growing) patrons annually.
We welcome volunteers who would like to work in our administrative office during business hours, with tasks such as filing, data entry, and organization. We ask that volunteers contribute 4 hours of work every 1-2 weeks. The need for volunteers fluctuates, and volunteers are interviewed and taken on a rolling basis.
To express interest in volunteering in our office, email Kira at email@example.com
Ushering is a great way to support CST and see shows for free! Ushers are required to arrive at the theater one hour before the performance, stuff programs, direct patrons to their seats, and pick up trash in the theater after the performance.
We ask that users plan to volunteer for one performance for each of the productions in a season.
To sign up to usher, please complete the usher form. No phone calls, please.
